Im Dan and from Derby iv had pigeons since i was 5. im now 25 my first shed was like a hutch on big legs my first pigeon was a racer off 1 of my brothers friends b4 i was 5 i was always in the garden with my brother helping him (or maybe just annoying him) i can remember asking him question after question i used 2 love trying 2 pick pigeons that would come 1st 4 him and always goin 4 the pretty coloured 1s sometimes it was fluke and i was rite. i then had a shed with racing pigeons my brother dint want anymore. i let them out and i used 2 fill em up with corn trying 2 get them in when that dint work i tried letting my brothers out 2 try get em in obviously he want pleased when hed come bk from work and they all b out. so i used 2 hide in the toilet with my brother kicking the door til my dad came home. at 15 i started racing myself off my brothers pigeons i had 3 youngbird racers getting 2 seconds and a sixth. i had a lot of help that season off my other brother Dean taking them training etc. that winter i got my 1st sectiond loft id waited 4 all my time growing up 18ft off a old bloke my brother had knew when he was growing up my first old bird race the year after i was 1st club off a pigeon id bred myself witch i was over the moon a bout. my biggest win came in year 2000 when i topped the fed from saintes 500 miles i couldnt believe my eyes i was talkin 2 my niece on the phone and just happend look up the garden and there she was i dropped the phone and raced up the yard nearly tripping up and clocked her in the only bird in my club on the day i got 1 next day 2 coming 2nd the following year they went 2 nantes n never seen the fed topper again 2 this day. i actualy dint c any pigeons from there again til couple wks later i got 1 back through amtrack a slate pied hen she went on 2 win 5 times bein 1 of my best birds with a cheq hen who won 7 1sts i then met my beutiful wife sharon in 2005 and moved out my parents home. and went into partnership with my Dad he did all the work i just clocked em in we ended up winnig more that year than when i had them myself the next year my dad got poorlier so had 2 give them up completely and i took his canarys 2 my knew house and my mate and my brother having some! my brother still has the 2 hens. i have 3 brothers 3 sisters but out them all it was this brother Darren i looked up 2 the most he taught me bout women growing up and how to be more confident and of course everything about racing pigeons when i left school i worked with Darren 4 7 years we had ups and downs and i left 2 find my own way but hes always bin there if needed help and 4 that il always be grateful. iv now got another loft. again 2 do with Darren off his father in-law this time. i now keep tumblers and rollers cus bein a security guard i Dont av time 2 race them but i still love the hobby some people wonder why we have them but i wonder why people dont nothing gives me more pleasure than going in the garden cleaning and letting them out.if any of ya was bored enough 2 read this thanks hope ya all enjoy ya birds/animals and goodluck with watever u have
